Hawu Tunneli
Hawu Tunneli is a stove-heated tent that sustains very harsh conditions. It is rugged, versatile, and simple. If you consider going on a demanding expedition or simply want to get your gear dry while on the move, you will appreciate the possibility to heat up the tent. The fabric is fire-retardant and it is safe to have a wood-burning Hawu heater inside.
The tent is made for the use by small groups (2-3 persons) or by an individual (with possibly 1-2 dogs). The design of the tent is made with an eye for rough climate, where you can expect snow, slush, and chilly winds. You can erect and use the tent even with thick gloves in hand. The simplicity of the solutions in the tent fosters reliability, ease of use, and maintenance. There are no excessive parts in the tent.

Dry your gear
Our new Hawu Pelletti stove and fire-retardant fabric enables you to have a fire heating inside the tunnel tent. You can dry up your gear in the middle of wilderness in the heat of the stove.
Enjoy daylight
The ends of the Hawu Tunneli tent are removable. Once completely removing one end of the tent, you can easily move things in and out as well as enjoy the scenery in the heat of the stove.

Using Hawu Tunneli
The versatile ends of Hawu Tunneli offer various possibilities. You may choose to open a door at four different places. In tight areas this may come in handy, as you do not have to reorient the tent but can choose the placement of the door instead. The ends are completely removable, so you can move stuff in and out easily. Having daylight as well as the view to scenery inside is a pleasure.
The fabric
The fabric works in very different kinds of weather. When the fabric is dry, it is very well breathing and as soon as it gets wet it swells slightly becoming water tight. The roof of the central part is made of one piece of fabric, which makes it tight and elegant as the fabric rests on the arcs evenly.
Hawu Tunneli can be used as an open-sided shelter by removing one of the ends. The ends are made very steep to avoid having poorly usable space within the tent. The tightening mechanism of the ends is unique. It is based on straps (similar to other Hawu tents) that connect at the air vents in the ends. The tent is very quick to set up. Just place the arcs in their pockets and tighten the ends and you have a fully functional tent.
The stove-end of the tent features a vent for the stove pipe. It is made of glass fibre enforced fabric. The vent is encircled by four small metal plates that keep the pipe at a good distance from the fabric. You may close the vent with a flap on the roof when the stove is not in use. The vent and its closing flap were designed with safety, simplicity and durability in mind.
The roof at the centre of the tent is made of a single piece of fabric. This makes it simple and tight. The roof has pockets for arcs and two elastic edges, which protect water and wind entering the tent through holes in the zipper. All the connections are symmetrically designed around the tent to make the structure as simple as possible.
